Frau Engler is the German teacher here at the Shakopee High School. She is very passionate about teaching the language and culture of German life. She encourages all of us and others to be a part of German class, German clubs, and anything related to German. We have used some amazing apps and websites in her class that are exhilarating, and they have helped us with our further understanding of learning a new language.
Socrative: is a website that helps with vocab and has learning games to help with the language.
This is similar to the popular game Kahoot. Unlike Kahoot, Socrative is not based off of speed and getting the answer right. You take your time answering the questions and getting them right will lead your rocket. The rocket that goes that farthest wins. Watch a demo here: http://socrative.com/?scrlybrkr=6a079afc
This is a fun way to learn, it gives you an opportunity to explore and challenge our knowledge.
Some other apps she uses are Quizlet, Duolingo, Youtube and Canva. They all help with enhancing our learning in a exciting way.
Doulingo: Doulingo is an app that you can download on your phone where you learn a language. It goes through the steps of learning a language not only the right way but it’s free! The app is fun and it’s exciting when you earn points for getting things right. Frau Engler is an amazing teacher and I can’t wait to learn how to speak, write, and read German.
