Almost every student in Shakopee High School uses their MacBook regularly, but not always efficiently. There are numerous and very simple tricks to keep your MacBook in the best condition possible. Many students come to the Tech Desk because their MacBook is running slow or Chrome isn’t working. The most common solution is to make sure your chrome is fully updated, if not a red arrow appears in the top right hand corner of your browser. To update the user has to close out of Chrome and go to Self Service. Once in Self Service click the update category.
Another common problem is an unauthorized extension has been added to Chrome and is causing problems with the browser. This is another simple fix, if you open your settings in Chrome it brings you to the settings page. Click the Extension option on the left side.
Once in Extensions go through and disable any extensions you have not put on your computer or don’t recognize.
These simple ways to keep your Mac working don’t always fix the problem. If that is the case, the Tech Help Desk in the Media Center has people willing to help.
